Bond the Managing Director has spent over 25 years in the Furniture
Industry. In 1998 he originally decided to set up on his own with
a Company called “Furniture on the Net”. The idea was
to sell antiques and quality reproduction furniture over the Internet.
Whilst restoring these antiques Mark developed a mixture that not
only restored wood but also had a lovely fragrance to it. Over a
period of time Customers began to ask for this concoction rather
than the furniture. It was at this stage that the product “
Balds Balm” was born.
The Company Barbe & Bald Limited was then created in 2002.
Growth continued with exposure at Stately Home Exhibitions including
Woburn Abbey, Knebwoth House, Goodwood House & Weston Park etc.

Germany etc.
In 2005 Lakeland Limited start to stock Bald’s Original Furniture
Balm in their Mail Order Catalogue and Stores.
2006 Appointment of Robert Carter as Finance & Operations Director.
2006. Move to New Premises at Dicker Mill in Hertford.
2007. Available now at John Lewis, Home Essentials, Scotts of Stow
& The Cotswold Company.
2008 Barbe & Bald launch Balds Original Furniture Wax
2008 Wax and Balm available from Robert Dyas & DCS Europe PLC
